Happy Sunday :-)

I'm so happy it's Sunday. DJ and I woke up and attended Church with the family and after church we all stopped and got some delicious Mexican food. Sundays are my favorite day of the week because I enjoy being in the house of the Lord. I love my church family and my Pastor is hilarious! And I especially like Sundays because it's my lazy day. I just lay around the house and doing pretty much nothing. Lol

But for the past 5 weeks my Sundays have been very busy!!! As you can see from the above pictures I've been a busy bee and working my butt off prepping for my upcoming Tinkerbell party. I'm beyond excited for this party and that I'm almost done with everything. My new goal for each of my parties is to have everything finished and done 4 weeks before the actual party day.

Here is what I wore today! I must warn you it's BORING! I pretty much wear All Black Everyday! Lol Mom so doesn't like that I wear all black and tells me I need to brighten up my wardrobe.

On Friday, DJ, Auntie Dee Dee, and I went to a Hockey game! It was DJ and I first time and we had a blast. I'm so not a sport's girl at all but really enjoyed myself.

having some camera fun before the Hockey game!

The top Hot dog is called "Dawg of the Game" it's a BLT hot dog wrapped in bacon and covered with lettuce and tomato and the bottom mini hot dogs were mine. It was called "Loaded Dog Trio" The 1st one was your average chili cheese dog, the 2nd was topped with macaroni 'n cheese with crispy bacon and goldfish crackers, and the last one was like a salad dog covered with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and topped with ranch. The salad dog was my favorite.

It's been a great week and an even greater weekend!

I hope you all have had a great weekend as well and an Awesome week ahead :-D

I'm off to do some more party prepping!

Taxes, Park, and Chicken & Waffles

Last Thursday was Valentine's Day, but for me and Hubby it's just another day. We always do little special things for each other almost everyday and all year long so when Valentine's day come around we don't really do the whole gift and going out things. It's the things that money can't buy that are special to me :0) So I woke up and made him Breakfast. I always make him breakfast but this time I  had a box of chocolates saying, "My #1 Draft Pick" waiting for him and I put on my Minnesota Vikings shirt (DJ's Favorite team). His face lit up when I came around the corner. He will always be my #1 Pick!

Egg whites, Turkey bacon, Pepper jack cheese on flat bread
with Orange slices and a cup of green tea
As you can see from the Breakfast I made Teddy we are still eating Clean and Healthy! We did so good the month of February. We only are Fruit, Vegetables, and Chicken!

After Breakfast it was Tax time. I was dreading doing our taxes because DJ and I barley worked and were getting back on our feet last year so I knew we weren't getting much back. We normally get a little over $1000 back but this year we got only $270 buckets!!! Yes! You heard me right we only got back like $200. Even though it's not what were use to we still are blessed and grateful for what we did get. We were just happy and grateful to get something :-)

Next was the park! The day was beyond beautiful. It was bright and Sunny. The plan was to go to the grocery store to buy some more chicken breast because we were running low but we just had to stop at the park and enjoy some quality alone time.

While at the market we saw the the Lay's Chicken & Waffles Chips! We haven't eaten chips for almost 2 months but caved and brought them because we want to be in on the judging all 3 flavors :-)

All in all Valentine's day was an Amazing day :-)

{DIY} Tulle Tutu Table Skirt

I filled with so much Joy!!! After a entire month, Yes, you heard me right after working on this tutu table skirt for a whole month I'm finally finished it :o)

I will probably will never make one of these ever again! I was trying to save some money because I just thought the prices for these tutu table skirts were outrageous!!!!  I seen a couple on etsy anywhere from $100-$217 and there's no way I was spending that kind of money. So I decided to make my own instead. When I took on this challenge I had no idea all the sleepless nights I would have lol. But I'm happy I'm now all done.

If anyone is interested in making one I must warn you, you will no longer have nights or weekends to relax. Lol but it does takes 22 yards of tulle. I used 11 yards of green tulle and 11 yards of lime green tulle.

I can't wait to surprise the birthday girl with the tutu table skirt she has no idea, it's a surprise :o)

UPDATE: here is how the tutu table skirt looked in action at the party!

{DIY} Flower Cups

As you can see from my lack of blogging I've been a busy bee! I've been busy crafting and working on my Tinkerbell party every night for the past 5 weeks. I still have lots to do but I've also have gotten a lot accomplished.

Okay! So on to the post. Here are the DIY Flower cups I created. I think they came out pretty cute for my first test run. The real judge was the Birthday girl I showed them to her and she loved them. For the party I wanted to use mason jars and cover them with cupcake liners but then I thought were going to be outside at a park with glass and a bunch of kid's running around. So that idea went out the window! Even though the idea went out the window I still wanted to keep the concept of using a cupcake liner. The party theme is Tinkerbell Pixie Hollow so I want to create a garden atmosphere. I wanted to make the cup look like a blooming flower in a garden. What do you think did I capture a blooming flower?

They were really easy and super cheap to make. I only spend .97 cent on the lime green cups and the flower cupcake liners only cost $2.97. Here is the finished cup. I think my Pixie Hollow Garden is off to a great start. :o)

Happy EXTRA love Day!!!

It so sad to hear single people say they "hate" Valentine's day. First off hate is a strong word and secondly, just because your not in a relationship that doesn't mean you can't celebrate it. For many years (my whole life lol) my Mom has always been my Valentine. I can remember being 22 years old and my Mom got me for Valentine's day a stuff animal, candies, and an Earring holder. She's so sweet :0)
I didn't have a REAL valentine until I fell in love with my Hubby 2 years ago. So just because it's Valentine's day and your single that doesn't mean you dont have anyone to share it with. We all have amazing Family and Friends who we can shower with some EXTRA love today! Everyday should be Valentine's day (I know it is for me) by showing Love to friends and family so today just add some EXTRA to that love <3

{Recipe} Taco Stuffed Shells

I feel like I haven't shared a recipe in a really long time. So today I'm going to share a dish that I cooked last month. One day after church I had no idea what to cook so I asked DJ to go on my Pinterest and pick out something he would like for dinner. DJ picked a pasta dish that looked so Ooey Gooey Yummy. Yes another Pinterest recipe!!! Lol You will be seeing a lot of them from me. The recipe comes from Ginger over at Inspired Ginger. To see her recipe and many other yummy dishes click HERE.

Taco Stuffed Shells

1 lb Ground turkey (I used 2 lbs)
1/4 cup taco seasoning (1 package)
4 oz. cream cheese, cubed
12 Jumbo pasta shells, cooked according to package instructions
1 cup salsa
1 cup taco sauce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I used Mexican four cheese my favor)
1 cup shredded Jack cheese

Step 1: Cook your shells in boiling salted water until they are tender.

Step 2: Then drain the pasta

Step 3: Use tongs to lay them flat so they can cool (use a cookies sheet lined with parchment paper or I just used paper towels)

Step 4: Be careful because the shells will be really HOT let them cool until you are able to touch them.

Step 5: Cook the ground turkey in a skillet and when the ground turkey browns add the taco seasoning.

Step 6: Next add in the cube cream cheese and let it melt down

Step 7: Let the ground turkey mixture cool a little bit so you can then begin to stuff the shells.

Step 8: Pick up one shells and a teaspoon and then begin to pick up some meat to put in the shells. Fill it as full as you like.

Step 9: Layer the bottom of the pan with taco sauce

Step 10: Place the stuffed shells in your pan that has the taco sauce on the bottom. Line them up.

Step 11: Top the stuffed shells with salsa and then cover with foil. Bake 350 degrees for about 30 minutes

{Weight Loss} No Longer in The Newlywed Rut!!!

I know a lot of you are like what the heck is a Newlywed Rut!!! Well you all know a rut is when you get stuck into something that never changes. Well before I got married I never thought about getting married so when I met DJ he literally swept me off my feet. My Teddy really winded me and dined me. He was so sweet and always made sure I was happy. Every week he took me out to eat 2 or 3 times a week, brought me Roses and my favorite candies (Almond Joy and Whatchamacallit) and just was always there to give me love and support. He's such a Romantic :-D I got stuck in a rut and I had got so use to always going out to eat I stopped watching what I eat and stopped watching my weight. I just ate and ate and anyone who knows me knows I definitely watch what I eat. Before I met my hubby I always weighted between 120 and 135 pounds I rarely went over 140 pounds so when I got married I was so shocked I had gained sooooooooooooo much weight. I went from weighting 140 pounds in 2010 to 198 pounds in 2011. I could not believe I was 2 pounds away from 200 pounds. I was devastated and was on an emotional roller coaster. I could not believe I let myself go. I got married and got so comfortable. I guess you can say I was so happy I let myself go if that makes any sense to you. I was so happy I married my Best friend and when he or I was not at work we were out on dates stuffing our faces and having a good time. They say Love is Blind I believe I was so blinded by Love I didn't care what I put in my mouth! LoL

The 1st picture is from 2009, the second picture is 2010, and the last one is 2011.
As you can see my weight never really changed and when I felt I was getting a little fluffy I quickly changed my eating and worked out to my Billy Blanks Tae bo dvd.

I cringe every time I see this picture. This is me last year in Las Vegas. I never, ever wear shorts but it was so hot and my family insisted I wear my shorts and I went against every feeling I had and wore the shorts then I seen this picture :(
My stomach was huge and I had a pouch then I had a camel toe the worst thing you could have!!!! I knew I had to lose this weight, but at the time I took this picture I was a happy newlywed. I had only been married 5 months and was just loving life then KAPOWW I saw this picture!

I have no idea how much I weight now because the last time I weighted myself was September 2012. I weighted 187 pounds. I do not weigh myself because I don't want to focus on the number it's self I just want to make sure I'm happy, healthy, and Not in The Newlywed Rut! Lol

I'm so happy I now again watch what I'm eat and I am getting #1 out of this newlywed rut and #2 I'm getting my Sexy back!

Love & Blessings,
Keisha Evans
